The hospital expanded its capacity over the years but eventually closed in 1983, following the opening of the new Meadowview Regional Medical Center. Its closure marked the end of an era for the medical center that had served the community for decades.
In 2021, the haunted hospital was put up for sale at a starting price of $800,000.
